Six actors (Ken Allan, Justin Brenis, Mike Green, Taylor Hess, Amy
Pelleg, Elaine Sonnie, and Bobby Thomas) play over twenty characters in
award-winning playwright David Ives' surreal comedy about the human
condition. The play centers on a young Polish-American named Jasiu
Sadlowski, whose uncle tells him as a boy that "Polacks are the punch
line of Western Civilization." As he becomes a man, he changes his name
and distances himself from his cultural roots, trying increasingly
desperate and absurd ways to avoid his ethnicity. Jasiu finds it
comically hard to navigate job interviews, the priesthood,
relationships, shopping, travel... every aspect of his American life. <br>
<br>
The stereotypical views of Polish, Irish and Jewish people are thrown
into a harsh and furiously funny light as Jasiu stumbles through
heartbreaking and zany encounters. As the ghosts of his true heritage
confront him at every turn, he learns what it really means to be 'a
Pole'.<br>

Taking inspiration from coin-operated public toilets in Europe, writer
Greg Kotis and composer Mark Hollman fling audiences into one of the
most irreverent, clever, and hilariously savage satires ever set to
music. The 20-member cast of this critically-acclaimed musical, which
ran for nearly a thousand performances on Broadway from 2001-2004,
takes witty jabs at government, big business, and even Broadway
itself... everything from <em>West Side Story</em> to <em>Les
Misérables</em>! <br>
<br>
The story takes place in a destitute city, where a terrible water
shortage caused by a 20-year draught has led to a government-enforced
ban on private toilets. The citizens are forced to use public amenities
which are regulated by a malevolent, profiteering bureaucracy called
U.G.C. (Urine Good Company). Those who break the rules are sent away to
a Guantanamo-like prison called 'Urinetown'. Finally, one brave young
man decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to
freedom!<br>

same techniques to refurbish the Carter House at the Portage County
