Tepper is best known to the general public for her novel <U>Beauty</U>, a long
fantasia on Sleeping Beauty, winner of the <EM>Locus Award</EM> for Best
Fantasy, and for novels such as <U>Grass</U> and <U>The Gate to Women's
Country</U>. Earlier this year Tepper was listed at number
50 among the top 100 science fiction and fantasy authors of all time
in <EM>SFX Magazine</EM>, a well known UK publication focused on the
