<P ALIGN=LEFT><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">Opera Cleveland seeks an Assistant Chorus Master for its 2008 season and related events. The Assistant Chorus Master has the overall responsibility for assisting the Chorus Master to effectively and efficiently maintain the quality, discipline, and morale of the Opera Cleveland Chorus, and should assume a pro-active role in all matters related to the chorus. This position where appropriate, may be combinable with that of chorus rehearsal accompanist. Applicants must possess excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented.</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">A positive attitude</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">, good communication skills, patience, and sense of humor are a must. <P><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">2. </FONT> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">Check chorus voice mail for messages prior to each music rehearsal in a timely fashion.</FONT></SPAN>
<BR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">3. </FONT> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">Assist Chorus Master with</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow"> auditions in order to cast the chorus as</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">needed</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow"> and assisting director</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">s</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow"> in the assignment of supporting roles when appropriate. (Please note that prior to auditions, the production staff will provide any specifics regarding appearance, special skills, size, etc.</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow"></FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">that should be considered during the casting process.)</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">4. </FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">Keep detailed records in opera offices compatible and aligned with Opera Cleveland data organization systems for all chorus matters.</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow"></FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">Report chorus related information in a timely and detail oriented manner.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">5. </FONT> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">Take attendance at all chorus services and work closely with Artists Services personnel to maintain accurate documentation in the opera office. Contact chorus members within 24 hours of any unexcused absences, check reason for absence, arrange time for review session prior to next rehearsal, advise Chorus Master and Stage Management of the situation.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">6. </FONT> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">Serve as liaison between office staff and Chorus Master as needed. This includes but is not limited to distribution of materials, making announcements, monitoring sign up sheets, forwarding paperwork to office, etc.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">7. </FONT> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">Serve as liaison between Stage Management and Chorus Master as needed when the company has moved to the stage.</FONT></SPAN>
<BR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">8. </FONT> <FONT FACE="Arial Narrow">Assist with offstage conducting and scored sound effects.</FONT></SPAN>
