the busy schedule of his parents, both professional musicians. The play is
inspired by a childhood incident, and is set in Mr. Kushner’s hometown of

idolizes her. Noah spends considerable time in Caroline’s basement
domain equating Caroline’s importance and strength with that of the
president of the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">United
States</st1:country-region></st1:place>. Although this tentative and
touching relationship is shattered over loose change, </span></font></b><i><span
