<P> <FONT size=3>We announced a new West Side Open Mic, hosted by Jim Snively, that started at Arabica's on Pearl Rd last night.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=3>Jim hosted a nice Open Mic on Sunday evening with some good talent present. Unfortunately, at the end of the evening, the owners of Arabica's decided not to honor their payment agreement with Jim .</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=3><STRONG>Just the facts: </STRONG></FONT></P>
<P><STRONG><FONT size=4>In January, the owners of Arabica's at 6285 Pearl Rd approached Jim about hosting an Open Mic at their coffee shop. </FONT></STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG><FONT size=4>A meeting between the owners and Jim was held, payment was discussed, negotiated and agreed upon and a starting date of February 15 was set.</FONT></STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG><FONT size=4>On February 15, Jim arrived at 6:45pm and set up his sound equipment. At 7:30pm, Jim played some of his own tunes as a warm-up. At 8:00pm, Jim started introducing other musicians who played 15 minute individual sets until 10:00pm. All of this was exactly as had been discussed with Arabica's owners at the January meeting.</FONT></STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG><FONT size=4>At the end of the evening, as Jim was packing up his equipment, the owners of Arabica's offered Jim $20.00 as payment. Not anything near what was agreed upon at the meeting--not anything close to Jim's standard Open Mic fee--but just $20.00!</FONT></STRONG></P>
<P><FONT size=3>Needless to say, Arabica's and Jim Snively have parted company. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=3>Jim is looking for another West Side location for an Open Mic. If anyone knows of a West Side location looking for that kind of entertainment, please let him know.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=3>In the meantime, Jim's popular Tuesday night Open Mic at Rider's Inn in Painesville is still going strong. All are welcome! </FONT></P>
