<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman">The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival is pleased and proud to announce its 12<SUP>th</SUP> season.. The plays for summer, 2009 will be <U>Antony & Cleopatra</U>, directed by Cleve Shakes Veteran and well known theater artist, Alison Garrigan and <U>A Winter’s Tale</U>, directed by Cleve Shake’s new Artistic Director, Tyson Douglas Rand.</FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman">Both directors will be putting emphasis on Cleve Shakes history of non-traditional casting by committing wholeheartedly to both race and gender blind casting practices. There are no AEA contracts available for this season but we would like to invite and encourage all area non-union professional and semi-professional theater artists to audition for this unique and exciting season. Each production will also be casting for several internship and supernumerary roles, providing opportunities for a variety of student actors and newcomers to bring their “A” game to auditions. All roles will be paid a stipend.</FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman"><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Open Auditions</B> for adult and student actors over the age of 16 will be held in the Schubert Library of The Cleveland Play House on Saturday and Sunday, April 25<SUP>th</SUP> & 26<SUP>th</SUP> from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:time Hour="13" Minute="0">1:00</st1:time> to <st1:time Hour="18" Minute="0">6:00 PM.</st1:time> Appointments will not be necessary. Please prepare two <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">contrasting</I> monologues that do not exceed a total combined time of three minutes. At least one of these monologues must be from the works of William Shakespeare. Bring a head-shot and resume with you and be prepared to have a digital photo taken at the audition. Call backs will be held on Monday and Tuesday the 27<SUP>th</SUP> & 28<SUP>th</SUP> with the
intention to announce casts by Friday, May 1<SUP>st</SUP>.</FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman">Rehearsal Periods will begin on May 4th with an average of five rehearsals per week in the evenings and/or weekends and will run for six weeks – through June 13<SUP>th</SUP>. Each production will then have its own tech week and opening. <U>Antony & Cleopatra</U> will open Friday and Saturday, June 19<SUP>th</SUP> & 20<SUP>th</SUP>. <U>A Winter’s Tale</U> will open the following weekend, on Friday and Saturday, June 26<SUP>th</SUP> & 27<SUP>th</SUP>. Once both shows are open they will run in repertory on Saturdays and Sundays for the next five weekends at a different venue each weekend. Performance Schedule for the Fourth Of July Weekend is tentative. The season will close with its final performance on Sunday, August 2<SUP>nd</SUP>.</FONT></P>
