color=#000000 size=3>Originating in Cuba, Rueda, which means wheel in Spanish,
is danced in a circle. It is similar to a folk dance in the way that it has a
caller who will call out or hand signal a move or combination of moves that all
the couples will do allowing for a beautifully, synchronized dance. For this
reason, timing and knowledge of the moves is essential. Four major moves get the
wheel started: Al Medio, Abajo, Dile Que No(which is a cross body lead) and
Guapea. </FONT><FONT color=#000000 size=3>Couples dance Guapea until the caller
calls a move. Rueda becomes fun and challenging when moves are called that
switch partners. Certain moves such as, Enchufa, Enchufa Doble, Adios, Dame and
Dame Dos will send the lady moving clockwise around the circle. Not all the
moves switch partners and there are literally hundreds of moves and combinations
to learn. Rueda is a great social dance that’s fun and challenging and allows
you to interact with other dancers.</FONT></P>
