pleased to present Robert Day, Organist at the Church Of The Saviour in
Cleveland Heights, in an organ recital at the church this Sunday, April 26, at
3:00 pm. </SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoPlainText><FONT face=Arial size=3><SPAN>Entitled <B><U><SPAN>Bob Day
and Friends</SPAN></U></B>, this free program features an appealing selection of
works for solo organ as well as collaborations with other exceptional
instrumentalists. Mr. Day’s solo repertoire will include Max Reger’s
<U>Passion</U>, Theodore Dubois’ <U>Toccata</U>, and Donald Busarow’s
<U>Processional on <I><SPAN>Lift High the Cross</SPAN></I></U>.
</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoPlainText><FONT face=Arial size=3><SPAN>In addition Mr. Day will
collaborate with Cleveland Orchestra violist Lisa Boyko in performing two pieces
by Rebecca Clarke: <U>I'll Bid My Heart Be Still</U>, based on an Old
Scottish Border Melody, and <U>Passacaglia</U>, based on an Old English tune
attributed to Thomas Tallis. Pianist R. Brooke Baker will join Mr. Day for Mark
Hayes’ lovely piano and organ arrangement of <U>Be Thou My Vision</U> and
trumpeter Erik Hasselquist will also appear on the recital in Alan Hovhaness’
<U>Prayer of St. Gregory</U> for trumpet and organ. The program will be
completed by Betty Meyers joining Mr. Day in a stunning organ duet: <U>Wir
danken dir, Gott wir danken dir</U> ("We thank thee God, We thank thee"), from
Bach’s <U>Cantata No. 29</U>.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoPlainText><FONT face=Arial size=3><SPAN>A native Clevelander, Mr.
Day holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Otterbein College and a
Master of Music degree in Organ Performance from The Ohio State University. He
is recently retired from 30 years of public school teaching in choral music, but
still serves as Organist at The Church of The Saviour in Cleveland Heights. Mr.
Day has also served as musical director for numerous productions in and around
the Cleveland area and is well-known as a talented
accompanist.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoPlainText><FONT face=Arial size=3><SPAN>Before and after the
recital, you are invited to visit the church parlor to view a mixed media art
show entitled All Things Bright and Beautiful. There will also be a
reception in the same space following the afternoon’s concert.</SPAN></FONT></P>
