kicked off the 3<sup>rd</sup> Annual Chalk Art Festival Saturday, May 30, 2009.
Over 3,000 people crowded the Square and the historic district to watch artists
create fantastic pastel and chalk works of art. Nate the Great entertained the
crowd with magic and balloon creations, and Asian Martial Arts educated many on
the wide variety of martial arts, including judo, karate, and tai chi.</span></font><font
size=2><span style='font-size:10.0pt'><o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:10.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>

in three categories, including professional, college and high school artist. The
professional judges for the 2009 festival were Bobbie Foy, Darlene Mowrey and
Brandon Spears<b><span style='font-weight:bold'>. </span></b>The winners for
the professional category were Sharon Borror, first place, (sponsored by the
Medina County Farmers’ Market), Sarah Jane Ingraham, second place,
(sponsored by Studio Knit), and Kathy Kraus, third place, (sponsored by Tandem
Trolley). Courtney Ursem won first place for college artists (sponsored by Towne
Square Travel), and Alyssa Homan won second place (sponsored by the Greater
Medina Area Chamber of Commerce). <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

place, Nikki Mokrzycki from Brunswick High School (sponsored by Whitey’s
Army Navy Surplus) won second place, Keri Svoboda from Brunswick High School (sponsored
by the Medina County CVB) won third place, Haele Wolfe from Medina High School
(sponsored by Walker & Jocke) won fourth place, and JulieAnne DeErrico from
Medina High School (sponsored by Main Street Medina) won fifth place. Honorable
mention was also given to Scott Brady (sponsored by Brian and Mary Hilberg),
Bryan Melhwish (sponsored by All Fired Up!) and Katie VonDerVellen (sponsored

place. In the age group of 6-9, Edwin Quang took first place, Lilly Sency,
second place, and Alyssa Cabacungan, third place. Sam Brown was awarded first
place in the 10-12 age bracket, Emily Gangle took second, and Zach Brady took
third place. Lindsey Maxwell was honored with first place in the 13 and up age
group, Bridget Anderson was second, and Cady Shingledecker<font color=red><span
