<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>The Mosses are a very special family from <SPAN class=yshortcuts id=lw_1244061515_0>Anchorage , Alaska</SPAN> . Stanley and Connie, along with their daughter, Jenn, took in over 100 foster children of all ages, many with special needs. One day they took in an infant named Chantel, who was the daughter of an alcoholic/drug-addicted mother; they fell in love with the little girl and adopted her. The same woman had seven kids in total. Over the next several years, they adopted three more, Lance, <SPAN class=yshortcuts id=lw_1244061515_1 style="CURSOR: hand; BORDER-BOTTOM: #0066cc 1px dashed">Dre</SPAN>’, and JT, all of whom also had numerous special needs due to the alcohol and drugs their mother took while pregnant with them. Connie and Stanley became advocates for their children, surrounded themselves with experts and did everything they could to give these four kids the
happiest, healthiest, and best lives they could. In addition, Connie created a website so other local <SPAN class=yshortcuts id=lw_1244061515_2>parents of special needs children</SPAN> would be able to provide the best care for their families as well.</FONT>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3> </FONT>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Unfortunately, in addition to the expected hardships that come from dealing with <SPAN class=yshortcuts id=lw_1244061515_3 style="CURSOR: hand; BORDER-BOTTOM: #0066cc 1px dashed">special needs children</SPAN>, the Mosses have had some unbelievably difficult and unexpected times as well. On <SPAN class=yshortcuts id=lw_1244061515_4>September 12</SPAN>, 2001, Stanley passed away from complications due to <SPAN class=yshortcuts id=lw_1244061515_5>diabetes</SPAN>. One year later, at 13, Lance had a heart attack, which left him in a coma for several weeks. He came out of the coma, but was a quadriplegic.<SPAN> </SPAN>He passed away at the age of 17 from complications due to pneumonia. Most recently, JT passed away unexpectedly.<SPAN> </SPAN>Doctors speculate he passed away from the stomach flu, but there is no conclusive <SPAN class=yshortcuts
id=lw_1244061515_6>cause of death</SPAN>.<SPAN> </SPAN>He was in a psychiatric hospital getting his bi polar medications leveled and was just weeks away from moving back home when he passed away. Throughout all this, Connie has been <SPAN class=yshortcuts id=lw_1244061515_7>living with multiple sclerosis</SPAN> which has prevented her from working.</FONT>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3> </FONT>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Connie and Dre’ are the only ones at home now. Chantel is 21, living in town but has little contact with the family. Jenn lives nearby and helps out as much as she can, including spending every Saturday volunteering at a <SPAN class=yshortcuts id=lw_1244061515_8>local animal shelter</SPAN> with Dre’.</FONT>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>The Mosses have done so much for so <SPAN class=yshortcuts id=lw_1244061515_9>many children in need</SPAN>. And they’ve suffered more heartache than anyone should have to go through.
