<P><B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Musical Theater Summer Camp (Ages 13 to 18)</FONT></B>
<BR><B><I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Broadway: The New Millennium</FONT></I></B>
<BR><B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">7/27 - 8/14; Monday through Friday; 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.;</FONT></B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> 3 weeks; Tuition: $325 (split payment available); Location: Main Building; Performances on 8/14 and 8/15 at 7:30 p.m.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">This three-week musical theater camp is for students who are serious and passionate about performing in musical theater. This year’s camp will focus extensively on musicals that have been created since the turn of this century and even dabble into those that have received major revivals during that time. From “The Producers” through “Wicked” to this year’s “Shrek the Musical,” students will work with musical directors and choreographers as a dedicated team to pull together the original musical review: “Broadway: The New Millennium.” Tickets to these Mackey Main Stage performances are $5 each. </FONT></P>
<P><B><I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">NOTE: Audition Date: 7/23 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.</FONT></I></B><I></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> Participants must do a placement audition to determine material for the performance. Sign up slots will be available upon registration. Students are asked to prepare a short musical theater song that they feel best shows off their ability.</FONT></P>
<P><U><B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Faculty for “Broadway: The New Millennium”:</FONT></B></U>

<P><B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Sarah Carey</FONT></B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> - Sarah is a teacher, performer, and choreographer originally from Rochester, NY. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from Belhaven College and had the privilege of performing as a guest artist in a touring Broadway production of</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> as well as choreographing for productions of</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Bye, Bye, Birdie</FONT></I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">and</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Annie Warbucks</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">. In Rochester, she has trained and performed at the Eastman School of Music as well as with PUSH Physical Theatre (where she is currently a guest teacher). She also served as the Dance Director of Community Arts Academy, an after-school/summer program for urban youth. While living in NYC, she trained and performed as part of the Professional Studies Program at the Limón Institute/Limón Dance Company. Sarah has performed works by noted choreographers such as José Limón, Doris Humphrey, Bill Wade (Inlet Dance Theatre), Stephen Wynne, and Randall Flinn (Ad Deum Dance). Having relocated to Cleveland in January 2009, she currently serves on the dance faculty at Cuyahoga Community College and has taught at Cleveland Ballet Conservatory, Hathaway Brown School, 121 Fitness, and Beck Center for the Arts. </FONT></P>
<P><B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Douglas Collier</FONT></B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> - Douglas has worked as a musician and actor on stages all over northeast Ohio, and has also taught at The Cleveland Playhouse. He has taught in the Theater Education Department at The Beck Center since June of 2003. Douglas directed the highly successful Youth Theater production of</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">The Wizard of Oz as well as serving as Musical Director fo “Once Upon a Mattress” in 2006 and “Cinderella” in 2009r</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">. Additionally, he served as Music Consultant For last season’s "Treasure Island". Most Beck Theater goers will remember him as "Cogsworth" in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 productions of "Beauty and the Beast". Other recent credits include Father in</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Children of Eden</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> at Broadview Heights Spotlights, Judge Turpin in</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Sweeney Todd</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> at Lakeland and Captain Hook in</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Peter Pan</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> at Tri-C West. Douglas studied at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and studied Piano with Dr. Angela Glover.</FONT></P>
<P><B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Amy Christina Hall -</FONT></B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> Amy holds a M.M. in voice and continued her graduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She is a voice teacher at the Beck Center for Performing Arts, Solon Center for the Arts, and through the Outreach Department at Baldwin-Wallace College. She also has worked as a music director for various music theatre camps. Ms. Hall performs regularly on stage in opera, theatre, concerts, and recitals. Recently, she appeared as the Queen of the Night/ Papagena with Opera Cleveland on Tour in</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">The Magic Flute.</FONT></I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Other roles with Opera Cleveland include</FONT><I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"></FONT></I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Adele in</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Die Fledermaus</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">, Adina in</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Elixir of love</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">, Rosina in</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">The Barber of Seville,</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> Mabel in</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">The Pirates of Penzance</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">. She has also sung the role of Papagena in Cleveland Opera’s main stage production of</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Die Zauberflöte</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">. This summer Ms. Hall will be performing throughout northeast Ohio with TrueNorth Cultural Arts in Seymour Barab’s</FONT><I> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Little Red Riding Hood</FONT></I><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">.</FONT></P>
<P><B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman">Megan Pitcher</FONT></B><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Times New Roman"> - Megan is a diversely talented artist with experience in modern dance, musical theater choreography and dance for film. Pitcher is the founder and artistic director of MegLouise Dance, a Cleveland based performance company. Her choreography has been presented through Theater West in Moscow, Junction Arts Festival in Toronto, DUMBO Dance Festival in New York, Ingenuity Festival in Cleveland, Ohio Dance Festival, Cincinnati Fringe Festival, Cleveland Public Theatre, Cuyahoga Community College, Stage Left Theater, Muskegon Civic Theater and the Miss Ohio Pageant. Pitcher teaches modern, jazz, ballet, hip hop, improvisation, partnering and choreography for Cuyahoga Community College, Beck Center and Cleveland Ballet Conservatory. She has worked as a guest artist with Shaker Heights Ensemble Program, Hathaway Brown, Ohio State University Mansfield, NASA Glen Research Center, Orange High School, Dancing Wheels, Ohio Dance Theater and Morrison Dance. Pitcher holds a BFA in modern dance choreography with honors from Ohio University. </FONT></P>
