12.0pt'>Natalya Vyashenko-Connor is the director of The Turning Pointe School
of Dance. </span></font><span lang=EN>Born in the <st1:country-region w:st="on">Russian
Federation</st1:country-region> in 1982, Natalya and her family moved to the <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Republic</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Uzbekistan</st1:PlaceName></st1:place> when she was 5. At the age of
10, she was one of a select few to begin professional dance training at the
Department of Classical Ballet Artistry at the National Academy of Ballet and
Choreography in <st1:City w:st="on">Tashkent</st1:City> in the capital of <st1:country-region
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Uzbekistan</st1:place></st1:country-region>.
Natalya teaches the Vaganova method and dances Russian style with an emphasis
on character dance. Natalya began her professional performing career at the
Alisher Navoi Great Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Tashkent. She has a
degree in Choreography, Director-Ballet-Master and Teacher of Classical Ballet.
She launched her teaching career in 2003. Some of Natalya’s notable accomplishments
include teaching stage technique for the Opera Department of the State
Conservatory and composing choreography for independent dance groups. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'></span><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>The Turning Pointe welcomes Dominic J. Moore as a new instructor this
fall. </span></font><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on"><span lang=EN>Moore</span></st1:place></st1:City><span
lang=EN> teaches modern, jazz, tap and hip-hop at The Turning Pointe School of
Dance, home of the Ohio Youth Ballet. At only 19 years old, the <st1:City
w:st="on">Akron</st1:City> resident already has danced with Edgeworks Dance
Theater, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Washington</st1:City> <st1:State
w:st="on">D.C.</st1:State></st1:place>’s premier all-male contemporary
dance company of predominantly African-American men. During that time, this
talented dancer toured area theaters including The National Theatre and the <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">John</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">F.</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Kennedy</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Performing</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Arts</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Center</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span lang=EN
style='font-size:12.0pt'></span>A freshman at the <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType>
of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Akron</st1:PlaceName>, <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Moore</st1:place></st1:City> is working toward his bachelor of arts
in Dance with a minor in Administration. His training includes dancing at <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Sharon</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Rae</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Performing</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Arts</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Center</st1:PlaceType> and Studio West Performing Arts
Centre, both in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Akron</st1:place></st1:City>.
Moore also has taken intensives with Garth Fagan in Rochester, N.Y. Fagan is
the Tony-award winning choreographer of The Lion King on Broadway, and while at
an intensive Moore was offered a position in the company. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span lang=EN
style='font-size:12.0pt'></span>As for the future, <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Moore</st1:place></st1:City> plans to dance professionally in a
company. Later, he plans to pursue his master’s degree in Dance, as well
as a PhD in Dance. Ultimately, <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Moore</st1:place></st1:City>
says he would like to be the head director of a university dance program to
take on older students, shed a new light on dance, and bring dancers
opportunities to help them take the next step in their dance careers. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
