Ashtabula Arts Center has scheduled a number of acting classes this fall as well
as one-day and multi-day acting workshops, many of them are new and never before

size=2><STRONG>“Improv for Tweens and Teens”</STRONG> with Kim Godfrey will be
offered on Mondays from 6-7 p.m. for 10 weeks beginning Sept. 14th, $60 class
fee for the session.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Have you seen
the show "Who's Line is it Anyway?"<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>Join in a class to explore the many ways of improvisation!<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>In this form of theater you can make up
the scenes and anything goes!<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>It
will stretch your imagination and boost confidence on stage.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The final class will be an improv show
to share with friends and family.</FONT></P>

Kim Godfrey will be offered on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m.for 10 weeks
beginning Sept. 15th. Cost is $60 for the session. Focusing on a classic
children's story, students will learn the basics of acting -- stage delivery,
diction and projection, emotion, pantomime, focus, and blocking.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>At the final class students will
present a staged performance of the story as readers' theater for family and
friends. </FONT></P>

Teens”</STRONG> with Linda Fundis will be offered on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30

</SPAN>Cost of the class is $60 for the session. This introduction will engage
teens in a variety of activities from creative dramatics to listening skills and
stage movement.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We will stress
interaction with others and self-development. Beginners

managing a production from casting through rehearsals to the closing of the
show. This class is for those who are new to stage management as well as for
those who want to hone their skills.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">

combining them to make more complicated syncopated combinations.<SPAN

with permission)</STRONG> will be $15. </FONT></FONT><FONT face=Arial
size=2>An introduction to various aspects of stage combat which will teach us
how to create realistic battle scenes.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>The class will include material on armed and unarmed stage combat plus

comfortable clothing - this will be a hands-on workshop.<SPAN

Saturday, Oct. 10th from1-3 p.m.with Tom Jessup. Cost of the workshop is
$10.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Based upon a lifelong love of
cartoon characters and utilizing games, </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>exercises
and discussions, the goal of the workshop is to help participants discover how
to better animate the choices they make in theatrical roles. The work will at
times be somewhat strenuous, so everyone should wear comfortable clothing and be
prepared to move. Prior to class, participants are asked to choose a favorite
cartoon character and be prepared to discuss their choice with the
group.</FONT></P>
