pathway to success through the arts for students of all ages.  Arts<i>Prep</i>
offers an affordable and accessible training in the arts and assumes that all
of its participants who remain in the program, regardless of artistic talent,
will be fully prepared to enter the college of their choosing.  By
focusing on rigorous, professional training in the arts, Arts<i>Prep</i>
develops confidence, mastery of craft, a sense of belonging on a college campus
and a strong expectation by students and their families that college is a
necessary and expected next chapter of their lives.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

in the Arts<i>Prep </i>program will be challenged to do their best by a faculty
of highly qualified teaching artists.  All Arts<i>Prep</i> faculty will
have a performance degree in the discipline they teach, or have a long time
professional career of distinction.  All instruction, regardless of the
age or experience of our students, will be of a college level quality tailored
specifically to the needs of our students.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

course of five years, the Arts<i>Prep</i> program will evolve into its complete

to accommodate their needs as they develop into more advanced craftsmen in
their disciplines.  At any point in this evolution Arts<i>Prep</i> program
offerings will be added to meet the needs of our students as they arise.

of the four disciplines of the Arts<i>Prep </i>program, students will be
provided with age-appropriate instruction of college level quality. 
Students who begin their training with Arts<i>Prep</i> will be guided to take
classes/lessons that will develop their skills through a progressive
curriculum.  <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Every term
will conclude with a public recital that will showcase the work of each
student.  This provides our students with the opportunity to perform
before their families and peers, and gives an incentive to practice on a
regular basis.  At various points along the path of their training,
students will be provided with an opportunity to advance to a higher level of
instruction.  Through instructor recommendation and/or interview and
auditions, qualified students will be allowed to move into the next level of training
in their discipline.  <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
culmination of the training comes in the various High School ensembles,
designed to fully prepare our top students to enter a college or conservatory
of their choosing.  Students who advance to this level will be guided to
begin their college career while still in High School through the
Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEOP).  PSEOP allows qualified
High School students to take college level courses while still in High School
for low or potentially no cost.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

reap the greatest benefits when exploring various styles of dance from different
cultures and eras.  Excellence in performance will be developed through a
culminating presentation at the end of every term.  Taught by the
area’s top professional dancers, the Dance Academy’s course
offerings will be demanding in an age appropriate way, while emphasizing

story enactment and theatre games will be used to provide students with the
most fun they have ever had in a class!  Creative Drama is defined as
"an improvisational, non-exhibitional, PROCESS-CENTERED form of drama in
which participants are guided by a leader to imagine, enact, and reflect upon
human experiences."  Students will start the process of learning
through the theatre.  Through the use of Creative Drama, they will explore
characters by drawing on their imagination and life experiences.  Creative
Drama fosters personality growth and self-esteem.  It can help children
learn to work together and to think creatively.  It builds language and
communication skills better than just about any other activity in school (often
including English class). It promotes empathy by letting students step into
others' shoes.   Creative Drama is the perfect opportunity for any
child to experiment with being a leader or a performer, in a totally non-threatening

is dedicated to taking the program to where it is most needed.  To that
end, we provide schools in need of support in presenting quality arts
programming for their students.  Through short and long residencies and
school-based course offerings, we can bring our artist teachers in any or all
of the disciplines to any school and provide first-class arts instruction at a
very affordable price.  <o:p></o:p></span></p>

we regularly have educational programming during the year on our campuses that

These may be centered on a Tri-C JazzFest event, other Tri-C produced
