Dr. Moloney, a respected professor, folklorist and musician, will celebrate Tin Pan Alley collaborations with his multi-media presentation accompanied by music and commentary.</SPAN></div>

The city’s artists and vaudevillians would gather in the streets to practice their instruments and rehearse performances. The cacophony of sounds was compared to banging on tin pans, thus establishing the name Tin Pan Alley.</SPAN></div>

Dr. Moloney says the Irish/Jewish Tin Pan collaborations he presents are “essentially a charming story of decades of good natured ethnic flux, competition and cooperation.” With songs including “If it Wasn’t for the Irish and the Jews” and “Twas Only an Irishman’s Dream,” Moloney’s presentation will discuss the diversity upon which the American music industry was founded. </SPAN></div>
