Klonowski Gadus is a Cleveland-area artist specializing in calligraphy,
stationery design and metal arts. In the spring of 1989, Elizabeth was
diagnosed with Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. <b>(learn more about Alpha 1 at <font size="2"><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://elizabenefit.origiknits.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://elizabenefit.origiknits.com</a>)</font></b><br>
<br>Although the
diagnosis of this genetic disease is rare, it is usually recognized
because of advanced lung (C.O.P.D.) or liver problems (Cirrhosis) for
which transplant is the only option for future survival.<br><br>Elizabeth
is listed with University Hospitals in Cleveland for a double lung
transplant. This brings a light of hope to an otherwise bleak outcome.
However, insurance does not cover many of the costs associated with the
medical and mechanical needs during or after the procedure, which is
