</span></span></font><span style="font-size:small">Elizabeth Ann Townsend</span></span></strong><span><span style="font-size:small"> </span></span><span style="font-size:small">is a professional actress and teacher. She is a graduate of Columbia University in New York City where she lived, worked, and studied as an actress for 22 years. She has performed in nearly all of the major venues in Cleveland. Most recently, she was seen as the mother in The Cleveland Play House's production of</span><span><span style="font-size:small"> </span></span><em><span><span style="font-size:small">A Christmas Story</span></span></em><span style="font-size:small">. She was a featured player in HBO's hit series "</span><em><span><span style="font-size:small">The Sopranos</span></span></em><span style="font-size:small">" and NBC's</span><span><span style="font-size:small"> </span></span><em><span><span style="font-size:small">"Law & Order."</span></span></em><span><span style="font-size:small"> </span></span><span style="font-size:small">She has also been featured in numerous independent films and has been a principle player in many national network commercials.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color:black"><span style="font-size:small">Elizabeth's training in New York includes: 3 years with The American Stanislavski Theatre, 3 years of Meisner training and advanced scene study with Wynn Handman of The American Place Theatre and 3 years of advanced training with Alice Spivak, a protégé of Uta Hagan.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color:black"><span style="font-size:small">As a teacher, Elizabeth began coaching actors in New York City. In Cleveland, she has taught commercial acting for The Cleveland Play House and Shaker High School, Film Acting for the Cleveland School of the Arts. She is one of the</span><span><span style="font-size:small"> </span></span><span style="font-size:small"><br>
Conservatory teachers at The Beck School of the Arts. She will be working with teenagers this winter/spring in the Curtain Pullers series at The Cleveland Play House.</span></span></p><p><span style="color:black"><span style="font-size:small">In all the work that Elizabeth does, she has one goal: to help people live the lives they dream of.</span></span></p>
