When I work I expect to be paid no matter what field I'm in,(Teacher, policeman or performer) and that should be the expectation of anyone in this business who wants to be taken seriously. When I'm booked for a project my time, talent, and experience is what you pay for its all I have as a performer(actor) if I allow that to be devalued it will continue to be a work for free situation. I am aware of the indy scene in Cleveland as I have been involve in several productions. I also have worked on union projects as well. if you are serious you will develop a budget to pay expenses to complete the project and then find, raise the necessary funds. Thats what producers do raise funds. The old cliche is quite true you get what you pay for. You can't pay your talent but the movie will make cinematic history,
really. Its the same tired line in this town. If I 'm talented enough to be in your project then I'm worth the pay. Its unrealistic to ask for that type of time commitment without compensation. A weekend or a few days sure that might can be arranged if the project is something an actor really wants to do.
