<DIV>PLAYWRITING WORKSHOP FOR ADULTS <BR>taught by award-winning Cleveland
playwright Sarah Morton </DIV>

<DIV>In this 8- session intensive, students will explore the fundamentals of
playwriting, including story and structure, crafting a scene, theatrical
language/ dialogue, and character development. Learn how to turn your ideas on
the page into vivid, dynamic and ‘actor-friendly’ writing for the stage.
Discover your own unique voice as a playwright in a small, supportive workshop
setting. </DIV>

<DIV>This class is geared towards beginning playwrights, but all levels of
experience are welcome. <BR>**Enrollment is limited to 8 students. Please

<DIV>About the instructor: <BR>Sarah Morton is the author of over a dozen
produced plays, including DREAM/HOME and NIGHT BLOOMERS ,both produced at Dobama
Theatre, and her solo piece, 4 MINUTES TO HAPPY, which played for an
extended run at Cleveland Public Theatre. Outside of Cleveland, her work
has been produced at Emerging Artists Theatre in NYC, The New York International
Fringe Festival, The Lincoln Center Directors Lab, and Live Bait Theatre in
Chicago. As an actor, Sarah is a two-time recipient of a Times Newspapers
Theatre Tribute award for Outstanding Performance for T.I.D.Y ( Beck
Center). and TWO ROOMS (Charenton Theatre.) She has been an artist/teacher
in residence at many local institutions, including The Cleveland
Play House, Cleveland State University, Lorain County Community College,
Cleveland School of the Arts, Shaker Heights High School, Hathaway Brown, and
John Carroll University. Sarah is also the recipient of an Ohio Arts Council
Individual Excellence Award for 2009. </DIV>
