Please forgive this mass email. I serve on the Board of the Ohio <br>
Theatre Alliance, and I've been asked to send out an urgent call to <br>
theatre programs in our area to encourage their tech students and <br>
recent alums to consider the upcoming OTA Annual Auditions and <br>
Technical Interviews in New Concord, Ohio on Saturday January 23. <br>
<br>
This is a very student-friendly environment, especially for talented <br>
tech students with limited experience. It is also an exciting <br>
opportunity for your more seasoned tech veterans. It is also vital <br>
to the health of OTA that we recruit a strong group of tech students <br>
so that we keep pulling in the best producers to hire them and our actors. <br>
<br>
If you know students who would benefit from this experience and may <br>
seek tech work outside your program, especially in the summer, please <br>
encourage them to submit a registration form. If you know other <br>
theatre programs or colleagues that could benefit from this <br>

Here's a quick excerpt from the tech interview section of the website <br>
to answer your students' most basic questions: <br>

Technical Interviews <br>
For Designers, Technicians, Stage Managers, and Administrators: <br>
Technical interviews will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and <br>
1p.m. to 4 p.m. Immediately after registration, technicians will <br>
begin to schedule appointments with producers. The length of the <br>
interview will be determined by the producing organization. An <br>
appointment sheet will be available in the registration lobby. <br>
Technical interviewees are expected to bring a professional portfolio <br>
and full resume. <br>
<br>
N.B. - You must be 18 or older by January 24 to audition or interview! <br>
<br>
Last year, representatives from 24 theaters from all over the region <br>
watched 202 auditionees and interviewed 35 technicians for work in <br>
the professional theatre. More than 75 different colleges and <br>
professional theaters were represented by the auditionees. <br>
Additionally, 86% of the auditionees received at least one callback <br>
and more than 50% received at least 3 callbacks. Approximately 70 <br>
auditionees were called back for dance auditions. <br>
