Haiti asks, “What’s up?” Once On This Island, set in the French Antilles, is a
magical tale about love, class struggles, faith, and transformation. As in any
great story, there is an oath, a curse, a battle, a journey, and a colorful cast
of characters that will steal your heart and chill your soul. Ti Moune is
a young peasant girl who survives one storm only to be thrust into another. She
must choose between the love she develops for Daniel, an upper class man, and an
oath to the gods. What will she choose? With a Caribbean music score,
large-scale puppets, and movement styles ranging from Haitian, Afro-Cuban, West
African, and Hip Hop, <STRONG><EM>you will want to visit this island more than
