story is set in a Bronx Catholic School in the 1960s. Sister Aloysius (Dede
Klein), the steadfastly traditional principal who believes in strict
discipline, makes a serious accusation against the young popular priest (Joe
Pine). A harrowing battle of wills ensues, and audiences are sure to come out
of the theater with lots to think about and discuss.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

Driving Miss Daisy, Oh, Coward!</i>, and <i>Hay Fever</i>. She is also one of
the two Artistic Directors of the Ohio Shakespeare Festival, which performs

celebrated playwright, director and screenwriter, <b>John Patrick Shanley </b>is
a native of the Bronx in New York City, where the story of <i>DOUBT, A PARABLE,
a Parable</i> takes place. He has authored more than 20 plays. His screenplay
for the 1987 film <i>Moonstruck</i> won him an Academy Award for Best Original
Screenplay. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:11.25pt'><span style='font-family:"Times","serif"'>In
2005, <i>DOUBT, a Parable</i> was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the
Drama Desk Award and Tony Award for Best Play. Cherry Jones received the Tony
Award for Best Leading Actress for her performance as Sister Aloysius.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:11.25pt'><span style='font-family:"Times","serif"'>The
2008 movie version of the play, <i>Doubt</i>, directed by Shanley, starred
Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Viola Davis. All four
actors received Academy Award nominations for their performances in the
acclaimed film. In 2004, Shanley was inducted into the Bronx Walk of Fame.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
