of Dry Hours</span></em> by MacArthur Genius Naomi Wallace focuses on Tice, an
African-American member of the Communist Party in the 1920's, his daughter
Cali, and Corbin, a white fugitive who hides in their house. Tice strives to
convert Corbin, Corbin tries to seduce Cali, and Cali tests them both in this
