<DIV>Joy Allyn Lawrence, completed her earthly tasks on March 20th, 2010, age
56 in Philadelphia, PA. Joy’s intellect and curiosity led her to study and
enjoy many activities including art & architecture, fly fishing and dirt
bike racing, literature and theater, politics and the law, travel and the
environment. Born in Lakewood and a long-time Cleveland area
resident, she studied at Magnificat HS, Marietta College and Cleveland State
University. In the 70’s she worked at the Playhouse Square
Association before moving to Valencia, California where she received a masters
in Shakespeare from Cal Arts. She directed fringe theater productions in
Seattle and New York where she lived, then moved to Honesdale, PA in the
Pocono’s where she discovered a deep passion for tending to the
earth. She leaves a lasting legacy from the work she carried out
with the Delaware River Keepers, the Morris Arboretum and the Philadelphia
Horticulture Society, where she led teams to plant trees, restore river banks
and water sheds and increase neighborhood parks in urban areas.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Joy is survived by her beloved wife and soul mate Bettina B. Lesser,
their adored daughter, Anya Jaye Simone Lawrence Lesser and canine friend Moe;
loving parents Josephine T. Davis of Olmsted Township, OH, and James M.
Lawrence of Cape Coral, FL; devoted siblings Lynn M. Hall of Ft. Wayne, IN and
Kelly Lawrence of Seattle, WA and a large extended family and network of
treasured and lasting friends.</DIV>

<DIV>A memorial service will be held at The Renaissance, 26376 John Rd Olmsted
Twp, OH on Sunday, April 25, 3:30 PM. Donations in Joy’s memory may be
made to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Foundations, 321
Norristown Rd., Suite 260 Ambler, PA 19002 or to help fund her daughter’s
education to the Anya Lesser Education Fund #6209587740 held at Citizens Bank,
