He was featured in the Cleveland Jewish News as an “elder” person and playwright of distinction. The </SPAN><FONT size=3><FONT

was performed off-Broadway at the Studio Theatre. </SPAN></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'"><o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: auto 0in" class=style6><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt"><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Ruby, a resident of University Heights, was considered a late bloomer. He chose the field of writing for live theatre, because of his admiration for live performances and their writers. He was in his late sixties when he began and discovered a hidden talent that he didn’t realize he had. Since, he had written two movies, <EM><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'">Shanghai Journey,</SPAN></EM> and <EM><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'">Murrow’s Children</SPAN></EM>, which had consideration for production. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: auto 0in" class=style6><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt">His plays have been read at the Cleveland Playhouse, Cuyahoga Community College and Ensemble Theatre, Cleveland, Ohio. Ruby always thanked his wife Donna, for the continuing encouragement that she always gave him.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt"><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The WAKE UP And LIVE’s Actors’ Studio has performed numerous plays by Ruby, at many staged readings from Borders Books to Cuyahoga Community College, to the Cleveland Play House, including the periennial audience favorite, <I>Four Queens </I><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-style: italic">which had the senior citizens’ audience “rolling in the aisles” after its recent April <o:p></o:p></SPAN></SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-style: italic">performance at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Center<I>.</I></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt"><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Over the years, Ruby had written such diverse pieces as <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Wednesdays with Hilda</I> which addresses race relations and touches the heart with Jewish heritage and, <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Sophie’s Legacy</I>, which takes an improbable look at “creative pregnancy.”<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>In 1993, Ruby took his first playwriting course with Bob Noll, another prominent local playwright, at the Cleveland Play House.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>He was hooked!<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Eventually, Ruby responded to a “Call for Playwrights
Submissions” for WAKE UP And LIVE’s Actors’ Studio and from there, a wonderful relationship was begun and continued to grow until his unexpected, untimely passing, October 25, 2009.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN><o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
