on St. Helena III</FONT></STRONG></DIV><STRONG><FONT size=6>
<DIV align=left><BR></FONT></STRONG>Let’s do something different was the
challenge made by the City of Canal Fulton to the Canal Fulton Players.
Looking at the entire canal way from Canal Fulton Park to Lock 4, Director David
Van Gaasbeek has plotted something different. “How about a Shakespearean
comedy where a portion of the cast performs on the St. Helena III and the
remainder of the cast performs from the towpath, the bridges, the dry dock and
the docks at Lock 4 Park,” said Mr. Van Gaasbeek. It sounds simple but one
has to realize that the boat will be moving and there will be horses.
<BR> “I have some very agile and athletic actors who will run
along the side of the boat and deliver their lines when necessary,” said Mr. Van
Gaasbeek. The play, which will be presented on August 28 and 29, 2010 at
4:00 and 6:30 pm, is Much Ado About Nothing, the hilarious tale of the love
stories of Beatrice and Bendick and Claudio and Hero. The antics of these
characters will be leaving most if not all of the audience in stitches of
laughter. “Shakespeare invites invention because he has no stage
instructions except enter and exit,” said Mr. Van Gaasbeek. “Thus, an
actor is not limited by a playwright’s interpretation of a
character.”<BR> Starring in the roles of Benedick and Beatrice are
Jamie Edwards and Anita Artzner. Jamie is a senior at Norton High School
and Anita is a veteran of the Canal Fulton Players last seen as Myrtle Mae in
Harvey. They are complemented by Bryan Steffee as Claudio and Christine
Gingerich as sweet but defamed Hero. Bryan last appeared as Rooster in
Annie. Christine is a veteran actress who has appeared in many productions
in the area. Playing the Prince, Don Pedro of Aragon, is Jason Reagon, who
returns to the stage after a long hiatus. Playing Hero’s father, Leonato,
is Gary Gallagher. His sister, Antonia is being played by Cindy
Bagocius. Don Pedro’s illegitimate half brother is played by Josh
Rowe. Josh’s Don John is the villan in this play. His henchman,
Borachio, is played by Tyler Brewer.<BR> Rounding
out the cast is Lisa Van Gaasbeek (Dogberry), Jon Neumann (Verges), Sarah Price
(Ursula), Jarod Hare (The Messenger), Ray Olivera (Friar Francis), Stacey
Pasternak (Margaret), Heidi Knight (Seacole) and Drew Hutchinson (The
Boy).<BR> The cost of the ride and the play is $17.00 and
reservations should be made at the Canal Ways Pavilion or at 330-854-6835.
All reservations must be prepaid. It is highly recommended that
reservations be made.</DIV>

<DIV align=left><STRONG><FONT size=6>Third Annual Fundraiser is<BR>August 21 at
7:00 pm<BR></FONT></STRONG><BR> A night of music and comedy
will be presented along with desserts and a silent auction on August 21 at 7:00
pm at the United Methodist Church of Canal Fulton, 363 West Cherry Street, Canal
Fulton, Ohio. Leading the music this year will be Jackie Piatt, Olivia
Durell, Matt King, Kristina “Annie” Currans, Theresa Graves, Gracyn Loper,
Lauren Stover and Amiee Jarzenski. The comedy is being led by Dave Van
Gaasbeek and Katelyn Zeitz. A new twist, break dancing, will be presented
by Josh Rowe and Tyler Brewer. Ms. Zeitz will also be
dancing.<BR> The silent auction will feature various items
donated by people and businesses throughout the area. The dessert table
will be supplied by the various restaurants and bakeries in the area.
<BR> The cost of admission is $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for
seniors and children under the age of twelve.<BR> All proceeds
from the fundraiser will be used by the Players during the 2010-2011
