Ohio (September 1, 2010) --- Karamu House, Inc.‘s Performing Arts Theatre
celebrates its 87<sup>th</sup>  theatrical season this year. The 2010-2011
season, named “The Season of Joy and Perseverance,” features
dramas, musicals and comedy performances that represent the crises, challenges
and triumphs experienced by people throughout the cities and the country. 
This season’s timely and relevant theatrical selections address a myriad
of topics including breast cancer survival, personal resilience during war
time, self-image and acceptance. Although broad in subject matter, these
performances share a common purpose in their ability to encourage and uplift.

new season kicks off with the world premiere of <i>Closure</i>,  a drama
written by local educator, poet, and playwright, Mary Weems. <i>Closure</i> is
an innovative fusion of images and traditional spoken word.  This drama features
28 poems, music, movement and multimedia images by <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:
normal'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>R.
A. Washington which personify the voices of objects left behind in foreclosed
homes.   <o:p></o:p></span></p>

normal'><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Closure</span></i><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'> is directed by
Karamu’s Artistic Director, Terrence Spivey, with choreography by
Cleveland’s Emmy nominated, Dianne McIntyre.  <i>Closure</i> will be
performed at Karamu located at 2355 East 89<sup>th</sup> Street, Cleveland,
Ohio 44106- from September 17<sup>th</sup>  through October 10<sup>th</sup>.
