Beck Center for the Arts Youth Theater program is seeking resumes for Musical
Directors for the upcoming productions of INTO THE WOODS and CATS. You do
not need to be interested or available for both shows to apply.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

is a paid position (flat fee). <o:p></o:p></span></p>

directed by Associate Director of Theater Education, Jonathan Kronenberger.

will accompany the rehearsals and performances as well as teaching the music to

speaking we rehearse after schools starting at 4:30 or 5 on weekdays and then
Saturday afternoons. The schedule is adjusted accordingly based on all
conflicts, etc. INTO THE WOODS, being a teen production, may be able to
rehearse with a later start time if needed.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special
objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and stealing from
Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk).
In James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award winning fracturing of
fairytales, everyone's wish is granted but the consequences of their actions
return to haunt them later, with disastrous results. What begins a lively
irreverent fantasy in the style of "The Princess Bride" becomes a
moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our
children.<o:p></o:p></p>

tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats at
which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer. From
the composer of <i>The Phantom of the Opera, Evita </i>and<i> Jesus Christ
Superstar</i>, this landmark show is pure entertainment from start to finish. A
true musical theatre phenomenon, <i>Cats</i> ran for a record-setting 21 years
in London and just over 18 years on Broadway. <o:p></o:p></p>
