This powerful pop/rock revue musical by one of America’s hottest young composers has been stirring the theatre community since it first appeared off-Broadway. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>Auditions will be held on Friday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. - noon and 1:30-2:30 p.m., as well as Monday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 7-9:30 p.m. in the theatre of the Fine Arts Building, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. Auditions are open to everyone, including students and community members.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>Audition appointments may be scheduled with the secretary of the Fine Arts Building by visiting the office or calling 330-244-5151. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>The production will be performed on February 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 8 p.m. and February 20 and 27 at 2:30 p.m. in the Kent State Stark Fine Arts Theatre. Roles are available for men and women in a variety of ages. Regular rehearsals will begin in early January, after an initial meeting, and will usually occur five evenings a week until opening. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>Librettos and musical scores are available for periods up to 24 hours from the secretary of the Fine Arts Building, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This material will also be placed on reserve in the campus library. Auditionees should prepare a song from <i>Songs For A New World</i>, or similar material, and bring sheet music, if necessary. Accompaniment is preferred, although a backing track will be sufficient. An accompanist will be provided.
