Hailed as "devilish dinner theatre" by The New York Daily News, this unique theatrical-culinary event mixes the ingredients of fine food, drink, and ensemble theater together in a loving send-up of avant-garde pomposity.

Equally celebrated by New York City's theater and local food community, Conni's Avant Garde Restaurant transforms Cleveland Public Theatre into a lush banquet hall-complete with a fully functional, visible kitchen--where for three weeks in December, guests will be treated to a five-course, locally-sourced holiday dining experience. The food is carefully prepared on the premises by the performers themselves and served with charismatic flourish by these self-proclaimed geniuses of the avant-garde theater. For this production, Cleveland's own sweet celebrated pastry chef, Courtney Bonning of Bon Bon Bake Shop will join the cast as a guest artist to show the world her savory side!

The audience follows the story of Mrs. Robinson, a rocker put out to pasture, and Miss Goodi Two Shoes, a baton-twirling ex-beauty queen, who upset the life of The Ensemble with the decision to have a child. Mrs. Robinson and Goodi are joined by a colorful cast of characters, including: a doctor of questionable repute; a refugee from the rave scene; a guitar-strumming barkeep; a barefoot genius director-composer; a near-mute sous chef; and a brusque fireplug of a floor-manager. Each of the five courses is served through a musical number unearthed from The Ensemble's under-appreciated original canon, much of which has gone on to be popularized in television situation comedies, cutting edge theater and film, and contemporary rock 'n' roll.

Menu*
(with local produce subject to availability)

Roasted chestnuts and mushroom tartine
Curried butternut squash soup
Herbed apple and fennel salad
Maple-glazed ham with cranberry compote
Brown-buttered radishes
Sage-roasted sweet potatoes
Drunken chocolate bundt cake
*Includes Wine

Book your table of 10 before 11/25 for $400.
