Handel’s <i>Messiah, </i>one of the most popular works in western choral
literature, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 4 at Valley Lutheran Church (87

the summer of 1741, <i>Messiah</i> is an English oratorio that interprets the
Christian doctrine of the Messiah. It premiered in Dublin, Ireland in 1742 and
was repeatedly revised by Handel until it reached its most familiar version in

Shall Sound and Worthy is the Lamb/Amen. The Holiday Festival Orchestra
featuring the Chamber Series’ own Artistic Director Hristo Popov on
violin, will be joined by the Western Reserve Academy Choir, Valley Lutheran
Church Choir and renowned vocalists including soprano Margaret Karam,
mezzo-soprano Lara Nie, tenor Daniel Doty and baritone Brian Keith Johnson. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
