Immediate Release) First Grace United Church of Christ is hosting <b style="">Heads Up Productions’</b> performance of <i style="">A Woman Called Truth,</i> a celebration of
the life of Sojourner Truth written by Sandra Fenichel Asher. <i style="">A Woman Called Truth </i>is directed by <b style="">Heads Up Productions’</b> company member
Heather Beyer. Performances will be held in Schroer Hall of First Grace,
located at 350 S. Portage Path in Akron.<span style="">
</span>Performance dates are Thursday, January 13<sup>th</sup>, Friday the 14<sup>th</sup>
and Saturday the 15<sup>th</sup>.<span style=""> </span>All
performances are at 8 pm.<span style=""> </span>Tickets are $5

racket, there must be something out of kilter." So begins Sojourner
Truth's historic <i style="">Ain't I a Woman</i>
speech delivered right here in Akron, OH in 1851; over a century later these controversial
words continue to reverberate through society. <i style="">A Woman Called Truth</i> chronicles the life of this striking woman
from the day she is ripped away from her family, through her struggle for
freedom, to her emergence as a popular and respected figure fighting for
abolition and women's rights. <i style="">A Woman
Called Truth</i> combines Sojourner's actual words with authentic spirituals.
It has been honored by the National Endowment for the Arts, the IUPUI Children's Theatre Symposium,
and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education. </span></p>
