At the age of seventeen he decided to move out of the south and to </SPAN></SPAN><st1:City><st1:place><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">New York City</SPAN></SPAN></st1:place></st1:City><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">. Here he studied the history of American and International filmmaking and made his first short film entitled <B><I>Night Shift</I></B>. Shot on super 16mm, he edited and designed the sound himself using a Steinbeck. </SPAN></SPAN></FONT><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 8pt"><BR><BR><FONT size=1><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="mso-ansi-font-size: 8.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 8.0pt">By means of these and other old school techniques, it taught him the fundamentals of filmmaking and when it came to collaborating with other aspiring artists, he had a new found respect and appreciation for every element that goes into creating even the simplest of motion pictures. </SPAN></SPAN><BR><BR><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="mso-ansi-font-size: 8.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 8.0pt">After an eventful stay in the Big Apple, Lucas learned of his acceptance into the </SPAN></SPAN></FONT></SPAN><FONT size=1><st1:place><st1:PlaceName><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">Los Angeles</SPAN></SPAN></st1:PlaceName><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 8pt"> </SPAN></SPAN><st1:PlaceName><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">Film</SPAN></SPAN></st1:PlaceName><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 8pt"> </SPAN></SPAN><st1:PlaceType><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">School</SPAN></SPAN></st1:PlaceType></st1:place><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 8pt">. This is where he made his second short film, <B><I>Delicious</I></B>, which won top honors at his school and was accepted into multiple film festivals including the Silver Lake Film Festival 2006. </SPAN></SPAN></FONT><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; FONT-SIZE: 8pt"><BR><BR><SPAN class=textstyle1><SPAN style="mso-ansi-font-size: 8.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 8.0pt"><FONT size=1>After a brief hiatus working in the production circuit and art department, <B><I>Running Away with Blackie</I></B> marks his return to his first true love, directing.<o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></P>
