The performance will cap a week-long residency at LCCC by Kingham and Shea Smith.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:15.6pt;background:white'><strong><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#333333;font-weight:normal'>Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for students with a valid ID; and $10 for children 12 and under. Take-a-Chance tickets are half-off the top ticket price and are available until curtain time.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:15.6pt;background:white'><span style='color:#333333'>It was from a five-year stint in the Navy that Kingham drew the inspiration for his first song, “A Place Called Home.” He wrote the heart-felt song in 1996 after being deployed during the first Gulf War. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:15.6pt;background:white'><span style='color:#333333'>He’s now been writing for more than 15 years and has amassed an impressive collection of national and international awards. </span><span style='color:#333333'>Kingham took first place honors in the National Telluride Troubadour Songwriting Contest, The Unisong International Song Contest, as well as placing two years in a row in the top five of the John Lennon Song contest. He brought home the first place award in the USA Songwriting Competition in the Folk Category, as well as the Overall Grand Prize out of a worldwide field of 33,000 entries. His singing has been featured in films, soap operas and on the WB network's hit show “Felicity.”<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:15.6pt;background:white'><span style='color:#333333'>He has recorded five CDs, toured internationally with Julio Iglesias Jr. and Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket, and shared the stage with Michael McDonald, Shawn Colvin, Suzy Boguss, and others. His latest CD, “Smooth Out the Lines,” was released in June 2010. Kingham is also an in-demand producer and studio musician. <b><u><o:p></o:p></u></b></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:15.6pt;background:white'><span style='color:#333333'>Also a Seattle native, Shea Smith<b> </b>is a veteran songwriter and recipient of multiple songwriting awards. His musical skill set has been honed through jazz studies at the University of Washington and a steady touring schedule. He is known for his incomparable singing voice and has an impressive command of the keyboard and guitar. Ryan has released two albums, “Guilty and Blue”<i> </i>in 2006 and “Stay Awhile”<i> </i>in 2010. <b><u><o:p></o:p></u></b></span></p><p style='line-height:15.6pt;background:white'><span style='color:#333333'>Kingham and Smith will also perform a Student Matinee concert entitled “Songwriting Made Simple” at 10 a.m., Friday, March 18 at LCCC’s Stocker Arts Center. The program is recommended for students in fourth grade and older and they will be performing some of the new songs they compose with area students during their weeklong residency at Stocker Arts Center. Many of the student songwriters will be performing with them for both the matinee and evening concerts. </span>Tickets for the Student Matinee performance are $4 each and can be purchased at the box office or ordered online.
