classics are texts which have been deemed valuable for the general culture as
imparting an important message about the way in which people choose to live
their lives. They enhance the awareness of the people who study them by
providing a wider vision of humanity. The classics also provide common ground
for people to evaluate and discuss society and the way in which it
functions.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Book classics are often
not easy to read. They tend to be regarded as symbols of elitism rather than as
a vital tool in evaluating people and how they function as a society. The
language, sentence structure and vocabulary are often unfamiliar and stopping to
look up words or phrases can disrupt the story.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
