<DIV align=center><FONT size=5>Caught in the Net, A Samuel French
Production</FONT></DIV>
<DIV align=left> <FONT size=3>Two and one half years ago,
the Players presented <EM>Run for Your Wife </EM>by Ray Cooney. It was my
distinct honor and pleasure to direct Steve Boardman as Stanley Gardner and Mike
Ripley as John Smith. They brought the house down even though we had some
trying circumstances prior to opening night. Mike came on board one week
before opening night. The cast and crew had to make massive adjustments
and with Steve's wonderful leadership on stage, the audiences were quite excited
over the misadventures of John Smith, a meek taxi driver who happens to be a
bigamist.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV align=left><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV align=left> <FONT size=3>The sequel to <EM>Run for
Your Wife </EM>is<EM> Caught in the Net. </EM>We are still in Wimbledon
and Streatham and John still lives with Barbara by day and Mary by night.
An added twist is that Barbara and he are the proud parents of Gavin while John
and Mary are the proud parents of Vicki. Life is blissful until one day
Gavin and Vicki begin chatting over the Internet. They decide to meet
since they cannot get over the fact that they both have a father named John
Leonard Smith who happens to be a taxi driver. When John learns of this he
goes bonkers and with the aid of his not too bright lodger Stanley, he attempts
to keep Gavin and Vicki apart. The results are without a doubt zany and
wacky. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV align=left><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV align=left> <FONT size=3>The play opened on March 4
to a standing ovation. John is played by Gary Gallagher who is a neophyte
to the stage. His previous credit is Leonato in <EM>Much Ado About
Nothing. </EM>He is perfect for the part of the conniving but meek taxi
driver. His partner in crime is Stanley Gardner played by Matt King.
His interpretation as a frantic slob trying to enjoy life's small pleasures is
perfect. Steve would be proud of him.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV align=left><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV align=left> <FONT size=3>Playing the wives are Anita
Artzner as Mary and Sarah Price as Barbara. Anita is reprising her role
while Sarah is succeeding Melissa Wagner who unfortunately with Mike Ripley
moved from the area. Sarah is quite convincing as Barbara.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV align=left><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV align=left> <FONT size=3>The children are played by
Josh Rowe and Stacey Pasternak. Josh plays Gavin very low key and is not
reluctant to allow Matt to ply his craft as Stanley. Stacey who is the
troupe's girl next door plays a rather loveable spoiled brat.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV align=left><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV align=left> <FONT size=3>Thrown on top of this is
Jon Neumann who returns not as Detective Sergeant Traughton but as Stanley
Gardner's dad. Jon has everyone believing he is seventy.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV align=left><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV align=left> <FONT size=3>The director of this play
is Sandra Schmeltzer who is debuting as a director. She is an excellent
actress and she managed to keep the cast moving even in face of two snow storms,
two ice storms, and a flood. She is no nonsense and she has pulled maximum
effort from her cast. This is environmental theatre at its
best.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV align=left><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV align=left> <FONT size=3>The play continues on March
11, 12, and 13 at the United Methodist Church of Canal Fulton, 363 West Cherry
Street, Canal Fulton, Ohio. All performances are at 7:30 and there is no
matinee on Sunday. For some crazy reason, no one comes to matinees on
Sunday in Canal Fulton. They like evening performances.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV align=left><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV align=left> <FONT size=3>The cost of admission is
$8.00 for adults and $6.00 for seniors and children under the age of
twelve. This play is worth your time because you will be laughing hard and
long.</FONT></DIV>
