<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">Production Workshop</b> is a special
program at FPAC that is geared for young people entering grades 1 – 6.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>It is a fun exploration of all the areas and
disciplines involved in putting on theatrical productions. The participants
will experience acting, singing, dancing, scenery, props, costumes, lighting
and performing! <span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Part of each day is
spent in classes and part is spent in rehearsal for a production the students
will present at the end of the session!<br>
<br>
The production elements of this program are unique.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Instead of a traditional script, the group
develops its script around a theme from literature.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>The children are part of the creative process
as the plot and characters take shape and a script is created. The mornings are
used to “workshop” and to rehearse their production.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Everyone is in the production and the
emphasis is moving each child forward at his or her own level.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span><br>
<br>
For those children spending the entire day, the afternoon offers a wide variety
of activities. There may be dance, voice, theater games, stage make-up,
costuming, and improvisation along with the opportunity for swimming and
outdoor games.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>The children going into 4<sup>th</sup>,
5<sup>th</sup> and 6<sup>th</sup> grade will be able to take the last class of
the day with the professional training students as a way to prepare them for
the transition into that program.<br>
<br>
Everything about <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">Production Workshop</b>
is designed for the age group’s needs and skills.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Children are challenged and also nurtured.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>There is a great deal of effort to tailor
this program to the individual child and to the particular collection of
children in that session.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Because of
this, many children come for multiple sessions. Each session will be unique.<br>
<br>
Production Workshop has a half day (10:00am – 1:45pm) or full day (10:00am –
4:30pm) option.<br>
