Movement Project (The Project) will presents its first formal dance concert
entitled <i>A Spring Fling Thing,</i> An
evening of live music and dance. This
perform will also serve as a benefit for the newly formed company and will
feature music by classical guitarist Robert Sharpe, Jazz vocalist Reggie Kelly
and the band Hubb’s Groove. <o:p></o:p></span></span></font></div>

will perform Co-Director Terence Greene’s Reflection of, a duet that the Plain
Dealer’s Doug Rosenberg calls “fierce and tender.” This duet is performed to Donny Hathaway’s A
song for you. For this performance it
will be sung live by Mr. Reggie Kelly.
Co-Director Michael Medcalf has choreographed and will perform a new
dance work to Nicolo Paganini’s Romanza and will be accompanied live by
classical guitarist Robert Sharpe.
Additionally, <i>The Project</i> will
collaborate with Reggie Kelly and Hubb’s Groove on a “in the moment” inspired
dance work crafted especially for this performance. Interspersed between dances
the musical guest artist will be performing selections of their choosing.<o:p></o:p></span></font></div>

Project, founded by award-winning directors, dancers, choreographers,
instructors and Cleveland natives Terence Greene and Michael Medcalf strives to
create, commission and perform new and thought provoking contemporary solos and
duets that aims to push the boundaries of what dance can and is thought to
be. Long time friends since they were
dance students in high school at the Cleveland School of the Arts, both their
friendship and professional dance careers spans over 20 years. The two decided
to join forces as choreographers and performers in the summer of 2010 to create
a duet for their high school reunion and from there the project was
launched. <o:p></o:p></font></span></div>

professional careers as dancers are highlighted as company members of The
Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble

graduate of Cleveland School of the Arts, Mr. Greene has studied at the

Karamu House, the Chuck Davis Dance Theater, and the prestige Alvin Ailey
American Dance Center in New York City under the tutelage of master teachers
such as Linda Thomas Jones, Joan Peters, Hope Clark, Donald McKayle, Ulysses
Dove, Mike Malone, Jeraldyne Blunden, Kevin Ward, Walter Raines, James Truitte,
Dawn Wood, Donald Byrd and Pearl Primus, and Reggie Kelly amongst others.<o:p></o:p></font></span></div>

and Associate Artistic Director of Dance Xpressions Dance Company in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Pittsburgh</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">Pennsylvania</st1:state></st1:place>. Mr. Greene is a three time <st1:city w:st="on">Montgomery</st1:city>
County (of <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ohio</st1:place></st1:state>)
Arts Fellowship Award recipient. In 1999
Mr. Greene completed his 10<sup>th</sup> and last season with Dayton
Contemporary Dance Company and in that same year, received the Josie Award for
best male dancer in <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ohio</st1:place></st1:state>.
In 2010, he was the recipient of the Alumni Award for excellence in his field
from the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Cleveland</st1:placename>

of the Arts. As a scholarship student, he attended the University of the
Arts, Philadanco, the Chautauqua Institute and the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Ailey</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype></st1:place>.
As a professional dancer Medcalf has worked intimately with prominent
choreographer such as Talley Beatty, Katherine Dunham, Donald

Robards, Dianne McIntyre, Kevin (Iega) Jeff, Gary Abbott, Eleo Pomare,

1998, Michael Medcalf established Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre (CCDT)
in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Cleveland</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">Ohio</st1:state></st1:place>.
Over the next 9 years as artistic director, he developed the company
into a dynamic and highly sought after organization known for its innovative
artistic programming, outreach approaches and collaborations. </span><span style="font-size:11.0pt">He
commissioned works by both new and established choreographers such as Dianne
McIntyre, Shapiro and Smith, and David Rousseve amongst others, and created
several ballets for the company himself. In addition, he has choreographed for opera, musical theater,
and contemporary dance companies nationally. His experience, professionalism,
and leadership helped establish CCDT as one of the most relevant and respected
arts organizations in <st1:place w:st="on">Northeast Ohio</st1:place>. He has
served on the Boards of Ohio Dance and Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio and on
panels for Dance Cleveland, the Ohio Arts Council and the Ohio Art Presenters
Network. Amongst his many awards,
including Young Audiences of Greater Cleveland’s <i>Sunshine Award</i>, in 2007, Northern Ohio Live Magazine honored
Medcalf for his contributions to the dance community by awarding him with its <i>Award of Achievement</i>. <o:p></o:p></span></font></div>

a choreographer, Medcalf’s contemporary work has received numerous commissions,
awards and fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council and various dance
companies, colleges and universities throughout <st1:place w:st="on">North
America</st1:place>. His award-winning choreography has also been
highlighted in showcases presented by St. Marks Dancespace Project in New York
City, in Cleveland Public Dance Theatre’s Danceworks Series as well in as
Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton for the annual statewide Ohio Dance Festival.

under the name Moment's Notice. The founding band members are Rodney Hubbard,
Cliff Coleson, David Heman, Eddie Baccus Jr. and I, Robert Hubbard Jr. As band
members went out of tour, we added new members, such as Robert White, Andrew
Braxton, Keith McKelly, Jermaine Lockhart, Tony Pulizzi and Walter Barnes Jr.
The band changed its name to Straight to the Point in 2000, Change on Five in
2004, then Hubb's Groove 2006.<o:p></o:p></font></span></span></div>

Jackets, Randy Crawford, Marian Meadow, Pieces of a Dream, Wayman Tisdel, and
Roy Ayers. We have individually we played for R. Kelly, Ellis Marsalis, Anthony
Hamilton, Lalah Hathaway, Music Soul Child, Jodeci, Bob James, Peices of Dream,
Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, Johnny Gill, Keith Sweat, Wynton Marsalis, Sean
Jones, Changing Faces and Men at Large. We have individually appeared on The
Arsenio Hall Show, American Idol, Diddy's Making His Band and many more.</span><br>

of the classical guitar with Dr. Andrew Zohn in 2000. Since his national radio
debut on NPR's acclaimed program From the Top, Sharpe has received many awards
and honors including first prize in the 2006 East Carolina University Guitar
Competition, second prize in the 2006 Music Academy of North Carolina Guitar
Competition, third prize in the 2006 St. Joseph International Guitar Competition,
fourth prize in the 2004 Guitare Lachine International Guitar Competition, and
fourth prize in the 2006 National Guitar Workshop Competition.<o:p></o:p></font></span></div>

Y, the Tennessee State University Classical Guitar Seminar, the New England
Guitar Society, the Fitzgerald Arts Council Concert Series, the Cleveland

Worth Guitar Guild. International performances include concerts at the Guitar
Festival on the Mediterranean in <st1:country-region w:st="on">Italy</st1:country-region>
and the Guitar Festival of Lipica in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Slovenia</st1:place></st1:country-region>. Mr. Sharpe has also
served on the faculty of the 2009 Tennessee State University Classical Guitar
Seminar and the 2007 East Carolina University Guitar Festival. He has performed in master class with such
acclaimed artists as The Assad Brothers Duo, The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet,
David Russell, David Tanenbaum, Jorge Morel, Soloduo, and Paul Galbraith. Mr.
Sharpe holds a B.M. in Music Performance from <st1:placename w:st="on">Columbus</st1:placename>

where he was the recipient of the Woodruff Award and the Presser Foundation
