</b></span></p><p style="display:inline !important">The Academy is an accredited, half day college preparatory program under the umbrella of northeast Ohio’s Excel Tecc, a group of Nine school districts that include Aurora, Beachwood, Chagrin Falls, Mayfield, Orange, Richmond Heights, Solon, South Euclid-Lyndhurst and West Geauga. </p>
</span>At the Academy, students earn 6 college credit hours. Students meet either in morning sessions (7:30-10) or afternoon sessions 12:30-2:40. Transportation is provided by the public school systems. The Performing Arts <span>Academy</span> is a rare opportunity for juniors and seniors who are students in the Aurora, Beachwood, Chagrin Falls, Mayfield, Orange, Richmond Heights, Solon, South Euclid, and West Geauga school systems to study theatre a half day every day as part of their regular school curriculum. <p>

<font face="arial, sans-serif"><b>THE THEATRE TRAINING AT THE ACADEMY IS CLASSICAL </b><br>That means the students are being challenged not only to know themselves, but to also know, understand and develop the skills to act and direct the great plays of the world theatre from Shakespeare to the modern theatre and musical theatre. We produce seven shows a year, plus many senior projects, class recitals, new play festivals and improv shows. We also work very hard to give students an opportunity to have hands-on experience on the stage, regardless of where they stand on the continuum of their growth. Year after year the students accomplish many mountain tops they never knew existed. As a result, we have a 99% college placement rate and acceptances from the finest acting schools in the nation. </font></p>
<p><font face="arial, sans-serif"><span style="border-collapse:collapse"><b>ACADEMY STUDENTS ATTEND GREAT COLLEGES<br></b></span><span style="border-collapse:collapse">Students of the Academy now attend such schools as Yale, Carnegie Mellon, Boston University, NYU, University of the Arts, American Academy of Dramatic Art, Musical and Dramatic Academy, Columbia College Chicago, University of Illinois at Champaign, Emerson, Northwestern, University of Southern California, Pepperdine, and many many others. Two years of study at the Academy gives every student a leg-up in creating a professional portfolio, a resume of great shows, and an audition that gets attention and results.</span></font></p>
