<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>The Salem Youth Chorus was founded in 2007 in order to provide teens in the greater <st1:place><st1:City>Salem</st1:City>, <st1:State>OH</st1:State></st1:place> area with the opportunity to sing great choral music as crafted by the compositional masters. The current ensemble has 20 members, ages 14-19. Our music program proudly attracts <SPAN id=lw_1304134647_12><SPAN id=lw_1305255325_8><SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black">young persons</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN> from communities throughout Columbiana and <SPAN id=lw_1304134647_13><SPAN id=lw_1305255325_9><SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Mahoning counties</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN>. In addition to our local concerts and as part of our 2008 summer tour, the Salem Youth Chorus sang a concert at <SPAN style="CURSOR: hand" id=lw_1304134647_14><SPAN style="CURSOR: hand" id=lw_1305255325_10><st1:place><st1:PlaceName><SPAN
 class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Bruton</SPAN></SPAN></st1:PlaceName><SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black"> </SPAN></SPAN><st1:PlaceName><SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Parish</SPAN></SPAN></st1:PlaceName><SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black"> </SPAN></SPAN><st1:PlaceType><SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Church</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></st1:PlaceType></st1:place> in Colonial Williamsburg, VA and then sang Choral Evensong at The <SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="CURSOR: hand" id=lw_1304134647_15><SPAN style="COLOR: black"><SPAN style="CURSOR: hand" id=lw_1305255325_11>Washington National Cathedral</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN> in DC. In July of 2009, we traveled to <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-ATTACHMENT: scroll; BACKGROUND-POSITION: 0% 0%; CURSOR: hand" id=lw_1305255325_12><SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black">NYC</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN> and sang at <SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN
 id=lw_1304134647_16><SPAN style="COLOR: black"><SPAN style="CURSOR: hand" id=lw_1305255325_13>The Cathedral</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN> of St. John the Divine. The SYC was the guest choir for the 2010 and 2011 Boar’s Head and <SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN id=lw_1304134647_17><SPAN style="COLOR: black"><SPAN id=lw_1305255325_14>Yule</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN> Log Festival at <st1:City><st1:place>St. John’s</st1:place></st1:City> <SPAN id=lw_1304134647_18><SPAN id=lw_1305255325_15><SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Episcopal Church</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN> in <st1:City><st1:place>Youngstown</st1:place></st1:City> and will return for the 2012 Festival. We have released three CD’s, <SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN id=lw_1305255325_16><I><SPAN style="BACKGROUND-ATTACHMENT: scroll; BACKGROUND-POSITION: 0% 0%; CURSOR: hand" id=lw_1304134647_19><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Morning Has Broken</SPAN></SPAN></I></SPAN></SPAN>, <I>Evening
 Reflections</I> and <I>A</I> <I>Festival of Lessons and</I> <I>Carols</I>, Christmas CD. The ensemble was a prizewinner in the 2010 <SPAN id=lw_1304134647_20><SPAN style="BACKGROUND-ATTACHMENT: scroll; BACKGROUND-POSITION: 0% 0%; CURSOR: hand" id=lw_1305255325_17><SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black">national music competition</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN>, <I>The American Prize.</I> In August of 2010, the SYC traveled to <SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Cathedrals</SPAN></SPAN> in <st1:country-region><st1:place>England</st1:place></st1:country-region>, <SPAN id=lw_1304134647_21><SPAN id=lw_1305255325_18><st1:country-region><st1:place><SPAN class=yshortcuts><SPAN style="COLOR: black">Ireland</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></st1:place></st1:country-region> and <st1:country-region><st1:place>Wales</st1:place></st1:country-region> for concerts and Choral Evensong. </P>
