She has performed with mega-producer David Foster, has played leading roles in the<SPAN> </SPAN>Broadway national tours of <I>The Color Purple</I> with Destiny’s Child Michelle Williams and <I>The Lion King, </I>where she had the honor of performing on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Before embarking on her Broadway career, she performed at Karamu House, Cleveland Public Theatre and the Cleveland Play House. A young mother, author and recent recording artist, Mariama was immersed in music and performance--studying voice, acting, piano and violin at Karamu House, Cleveland Music School Settlement, and Cleveland Institute of Music. It was clear to her early on that music
and writing would be integral parts of her life and has since become a great performer and profound songwriter. Born to a Jamaican father and an African-American mother and raised in the Cleveland suburb of Shaker Heights, OH, Mariama absorbed the sounds of soul, pop, jazz, rock, hip-hop, gospel and reggae and blends these styles into her music. </SPAN><SPAN style="LINE-HEIGHT: 150%; FONT-SIZE: 14pt">She brings a fresh sound she describes as "contemporary R&B with splashes of world and rock music," evidenced in her newly self-released EP, "Find Your Light" available in online music stores and hardcopy.<SPAN> </SPAN>Always one looking for groundbreaking projects, Mariama is also a business leader in a new global company called CieAura that is now partnered with the NBA and WNBA.<SPAN> </SPAN>She is thrilled to be one of the first in the Cleveland market to bring a new innovative wellness product that is not only helping so many people
