Three audition dates are scheduled to be held on Monday, Aug. 22 from 6-8 p.m.; Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 6-8 p.m.; and Wednesday, Aug. 31 from 6-8 p.m. Auditions will take place in Fine Arts room 101 on the Stark Campus, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>To schedule an audition, e-mail Concert Band Director Richard Kibler at <a href="mailto:rkibler6@kent.edu">rkibler6@kent.edu</a>. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>The Kent State Stark Concert Band is a 25-year-old, award-winning ensemble, comprised of talented high school students, Stark Campus faculty and students, as well as those from neighboring colleges, and community members. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>Applicants with wind instruments are expected to perform scales up through four sharps and four flats from memory and the chromatic scale, starting from the lowest comfortable note and ascending to the most comfortable upper note. They must come to the audition with a prepared piece, consisting of either a solo or two contrasting etudes (fast/slow) that demonstrate both their technical and musical ability. Sight-reading is also required during the audition.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>Percussion applicants will be interviewed during their scheduled audition time. The performance audition will take place at the first rehearsal. The applicants must demonstrate their ability on various percussion instruments. At the conclusion of the rehearsal, applicants will be notified if they have been accepted into the Kent State Stark Concert Band.<o:p></o:p></p></div></body></html>
