The semi-autobiographical <br></div><div>play concerns former New Deal Attorney General, Judge Francis Biddle and his latest <br></div><div>secretary (one of many), the twenty-five year old Sarah Schorr. As he puts it, "we can't <br></div><div>help but find each other extremely trying." The dialog is both acerbic and engaging. <br><br>Glenn Colerider, a company favorite and veteran actor, portrays the frail, cantankerous <br></div><div>Biddle and Tricia Bestic the more reactive and efficient secretary (an
adaptation of the <br></div><div>Playwright herself who was, indeed, Biddle’s last secretary). Tricia Bestic, in her <br></div><div>Cesear’s Forum debut , is no stranger to PlayhouseSquare audiences where she appeared <br></div><div>in Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Robert’s I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW <br></div><div>CHANGE, Two “Musical Journeys;” Dorothy Marcic’s RESPECT and Laurie Frey’s <br></div><div>UNBEATABLE, and in the ninth incarnation of Gerard Alessandrini’s musical revue <br></div><div>parody, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT. Ms. Bestic is <br></div><div>teaching and completing her MFA in acting at Kent State University, where her onstage <br></div><div>performances include Caryl Churchill’s CLOUD NINE and the Dale Wasserman stage <br></div><div>adaptation of Ken Kesey’s ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST. <br><br>The intersection of youth and age informs many of Joanna
McClelland Glass’ plays. <br></div><div>Biddle's awareness of declining health and demise are woven into the script but Ms. Glass <br></div><div>includes her own, or rather, Sarah’s personal crises and ambitions in counter contrast.<br><br>Joanna McClelland Glass’ TRYING, Fri. & Sat. at 8 pm, Nov. 4th thru Dec. 10th, Sunday <br></div><div>Matinée, Nov. 20th at 3 pm.
