will hold auditions for the premiere of Matty Sayre’s one-man show, <i>Managing!
A Theatre Professional’s Journey in (Un)Employment. </i>The play will be
presented as part of Spotlights’ Cabaret Series on Friday, December 9, and
Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 7:00 PM.  </p>

normal">The production will be directed by Matty Sayre, who is seeking a
skilled, comedic actor, age 25 to 40. Auditioners should prepare a brief
comedic monologue and will also read from the script. Please dress comfortably
for movement. Auditions will be held Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 6:00PM at the
Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, 9543 Broadview Road (next to the Police
Station).</p>

of Sayre's hopeful and comedic journey from his career as an operatic stage
manager to that of being a warm body in a cold office. You'll enjoy hearing
about the attempts to leave "show biz" for the security of a
"real job." Imagine trying to convince the interviewer that your
University education is, indeed, valuable. And, once hired, what can you do to
keep the job that you know nothing about? Or the follies of being hired by an
employer who doesn't even want to succeed! <i>Managing! </i>is a story
demonstrating the ridiculousness of reality and how it can make for great
entertainment. Forget your (un)employment stresses for one night and laugh at
someone else's!</p>

normal;text-autospace:none">Playwright Matty Sayre is a professional opera
stage manager and stage director from the NE Ohio area. He has been stage
managing for over ten years in opera houses from Iowa to Western Europe. Most
recently as a stage director, Sayre premiered the new opera <i>Edison Invents </i>in
May (with the Brecksville Theater on the Square) and <i>Blue Moon: A Musical
Love Story </i>in Canton, as well as directed <i>Godspell </i>with Lakeside

</b>The Broadview Heights Spotlights is a non-profit (501c) corporation that
was founded in June of 1998 to create a unique, intergenerational theater that
would work closely with the City of Broadview Heights to its events and foster
a new awareness of and opportunities in the performing arts for the community.
In November, 2003, the City Council passed an ordinance granting a long-term,
low-cost lease of a building on the Broadview Center campus. The building, a
former medical group home, was renovated by volunteers and houses the
Spotlights’ Main Stage theater season, Cabaret Season, educational classes, and
special events.</p>
