This event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>At Kent State Stark, Dinova’s performance will include memorable compositions by Bach, Brahms, Debussy, Chopin and Liszt. Dinova has performed and recorded with Europe’s finest orchestras. A champion of rare and interesting 20th century repertoire from her native Russia and America, she is known for her virtuosity and exquisite interpretations. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>Her new CD, <i>Music That Tells Stories</i>, gained outstanding reviews in New Zealand and the USA in 2011. Dinova released her first solo album, <i>Masterpieces for Children by Bach, Debussy, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky</i>, in 2005. Her recording of Brahms’s <i>Second Piano Concerto</i> with the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra was released in 2004. Two years earlier, she premiered the concerto <i>Shadow of the Swan</i> with Russia’s State Capella Symphony Orchestra. The concerto was inspired by the memory of those who lost their lives in the Challenger Space Shuttle and Kursk submarine disasters and was later adapted into an award-winning documentary. Dinova will soon launch a series of solo recitals, entitled <i>Sic resplendit Gloria Mundi</i>, which focus on reviving rare gems of piano literature from different periods of musical history.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>Born in Kazan, Russia, Dinova studied at the Kazan Conservatory and after finishing her degree, she was one a few pianists chosen to participate in the Russian doctor of musical arts program. Upon completion of the program, she taught at the Kazan State Conservatory four years before entering the Geza Anda competition, which earned her a concert tour and scholarship from the European Mozart Foundation. Soon after relocating to the United States, she earned an artist diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=NoParagraphStyle>A prizewinner of several international competitions, Dinova has performed in North America, Russia, Mexico, Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, Bulgaria, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey and Argentina.
