for Actors,” </b>conducted by area actor and former NWPL company member Terence

place on Friday March 23, 7-10pm and Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25,

short monologue, poem, or text, dress comfortably, and bring a wide, soft mat

the unfettered expression of imagination, intention, and feeling in rehearsal
and performance. Unfortunately, actors’ habitual muscular and vocal attitudes
and typical patterns of behavior often limit what they can realize in
actuality. What the actor intends to do on stage somehow is not, or cannot be,
expressed fully, or at all. Actor/director/playwright and authorized <i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">Feldenkrais Method Awareness Through
Movement Teacher</i><sup>CM </sup>Terence Cranendonk leads this 3 day workshop in
methods to unite the forces of imagination, will, and sensation in the body of
the performer, leading to more powerful and expressive work on stage. Through
gentle and methodical movement lessons, participants will learn to recognize
and unblock habitual movement and vocal patterns. They will learn to establish
connections between the impulse, or intention, to act, and the realization of
that action in a way that better reflects genuine individual imagination and

and refining your sensory awareness, through gentle movement exercises, leading
to improved overall health and functioning. It is for people of all ages and

(ATM) lessons are taught in groups, verbally guided by a Feldenkrais
practitioner. ATM lessons can result in surprising, even astonishing, changes

mso-bidi-font-family:Arial"> received his B.A. in Theater Studies from Yale
University and his M.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Akron.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>He studied acting with the Polish Laboratory
Theatre’s Ryszard Cieslak, as well as at the Michael Chekhov Studio, and is a
graduate of the Dell’Arte School of Physical Theatre.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>From 1992 to 1999, Terence was a member of
the New World Performance laboratory, whose work has been featured in the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">Drama Review</i>, as well as in the books <i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">Grotowski’s Objective Drama Research</i> and
<i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">The Grotowski Sourcebook</i>.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Terence has performed at the Kennedy Center,
Philadelphia’s Plays and Players Theatre, New York’s Public Theatre, Home for
Contemporary Theatre, and with Target Margin Theatre, among others, as well as
in France, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, and Brazil. He is Akron’s
only authorized <i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">Feldenkrais Method
