<html><body><div style="color:#000; background-color:#fff; font-family:times new roman, new york, times, serif;font-size:12pt"><div><span></span></div><div><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Arthur Miller & Sylvia Plath One-Act Plays Continue at Cesear’s Forum</span><br><br>Cesear's Forum continues its run of two one-act plays: ELEGY FOR A LADY by Arthur Miller and THREE WOMEN by Sylvia Plath through May 26th. The two plays dramatize the psychological struggle within individual consciousness from a male and female perspective. Miller confronts morality and mortality from a male viewpoint, through dialog with a female "persona." Plath utilizes verse monologue to represent three facets of herself struggling with conception, birth, loss and identity in an often hostile universe. <br><br>Fran Heller describes the work as <span style="font-style: italic;">“Enigmatic, expressionistic and elusive”</span> and
together with fellow theatre critics Christine Howey and Roy Berko note the performances; <span style="font-style: italic;">“Fine acting…with moments of sheer beauty”</span> although Ms. Howey criticizes the plays as <span style="font-style: italic;">“less than a sum of its parts.”</span> Cleveland playwright Molly Hagan, writes more specifically; <span style="font-style: italic;">“For THREE WOMEN, the words are the real stars…Plath’s verse does not disappoint…The poetry passes quickly, but for Plath admirers the effect can be sweet.”</span> Berko writes; <span style="font-style: italic;">“Miller is noted for his meticulous choice of words.
