Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances are at 7:00PM; Sunday Matinees begin at 3:00PM. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1.0in;"><span
style="font-family:"sans-serif";"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1.0in;"><span style="font-family:"sans-serif";">Based on the work of Rudyard Kipling, the musical is a clever and powerful interweaving of the <i>Just So Stories</i>.
While following the Elephants Child on a journey to stop the Crab from
playing with the sea, the story creatively answers such questions as
“How did the elephant get his trunk?”, “How did the leopard get his
spots?”, and “Why does the Kangaroo have such powerful legs?” With
hummable melodies and memorable characters, the show has uplifiting and
powerful messages about self-courage, friendship, and acceptance. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1.0in;"><span style="font-family:"sans-serif";"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1.0in;"><span style="font-family:"sans-serif";">The show’s authors, George Stilles and Anthony Drewe—the same team that composed the popular Ugly Duckling musical, <i>Honk!</i>—spent
twenty-five years composing and revising the show, which originally
premiered in London and has had several reincarnations at various
theaters around the United States. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1.0in;"><span style="font-family:"sans-serif";"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1.0in;"><b><span style="font-family:"sans-serif";">Tim Anderson</span></b><span style="font-family:"sans-serif";">,
Education Director for the Spotlights and is one of the show’s
co-directors, noted, “In past years, we have chosen abridged shows
specifically designed for young performers. This year, we ambitiously
decided to stage a full-length musical intended to be performed by
adults. Already, the cast has risen to the challenge with only the
slightest adaptations.” <b>Maggie Majercik</b>, a veteran of the Spotlights’ stage who began in the youth productions several years ago, is also co-directing the show. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1.0in;"><span style="font-family:"sans-serif";"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1.0in;"><span style="font-family:"sans-serif";">The cast features fifteen talented local performers, ages 9 to 17, including <b>Elizabeth Coleman</b>, <b>Jordan Cree</b>, <b>Corey East</b>, <b>Lexi Frendak</b>, <b>Dylan Grosh</b>, <b>Emily Johnson</b>, <b>Charlie Jones</b>, <b>Claire Leff</b>, <b>Chrissy Margevicius</b>, <b>Kamal Raslan</b>, <b>Curt Sprunger</b>, <b>Ian Stewart</b>, <b>Lindsay Tryon</b>, and <b>Nathan Weagraff</b>. Anderson also appears on stage in a cameo role as the Eldest Magician. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1.0in;"><span
