<br></div><div><p class="MsoNormal"><i><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Route 66</span></i><span style="font-size:14.0pt"> is a terrific musical review that is currently
playing at Actor’s Summit in Akron.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">The cast of four guys performs
26 car songs from the 50’s & 60’s that transport us along the iconic
highway from Chicago to LA, starting with the Texaco gas theme and the title
song “Route 66” and ending with a medley of muscle car songs. Along the way
it’s a really enjoyable journey featuring songs you know like Roger Miller’s “King
Of The Road” and Willie Nelson’s “On The Road Again,” songs you may not know
like “Used To Be” and “Truck Stop Cutie,” and songs you probably forgot like
“The Girl On The Billboard.”</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><br></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">But the music is only half
the fun in <i>Route 66</i> because virtually the entire show is choreographed
to compliment the songs. It’s packed with inventive movement that’s always fun
to watch and sometimes is absolutely hilarious, often reminding me of the
whimsy captured by Laurel and Hardy in their famous dance sequence from <i>Way
Out West</i>.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">The cast is perfect. Adam
Klusty, Shawn Galligan, Frank Jackman and Gabriel Riazi are given solo moments,
are all very funny, and are also great at blending their voices in terrific
harmony. Highlights include Adam’s “Oklahoma Hills.” Shawn’s “Used To Be,” Frank’s
“Highway Patrol” and “Six Days On The Road” and Gabriel’s “Girl On The
Billboard.” The show is so much fun, you can tell that they are having as good
a time as the audience. <i>Route 66</i> is great summer entertainment.</span></p>
