
<html><body><span style="font-family:Verdana; color:#000000; font-size:10pt;"><div>DramaSmarts is looking for Teaching Artists who will be available throughout the east side of Cleveland beginning in late September, early October. The Teaching Artist must be able to work between the hours of 3:15 and 4:30 for an hour lesson each day.<BR><BR><BR><BR>Do you:<BR><BR>• have experience working with students from various socio-economic backgrounds, including low performing and at-risk students.<BR>• have a passion for theater and are comfortable using creative writing and some movement to teach children.<BR>• have a passion for working with children in grades 1-8.<BR>• believe that every child is capable of learning and is committed to the process.<BR>• possesses good classroom management skills and understands classroom dynamics.<BR>• have the flexibility necessary to quickly adjust their routine to meet the needs of their students.<BR>• have theatre experience, but not necessarily as a professional.<BR>• have the availablity to to commit to part-time work Monday-Friday, at least 2 days per week, if not more for approximately 8 weeks in the Fall, Winter or Spring of the school year.<BR>• have the ability to work with the school staff to schedule performance dates, change room assignments and contact parents or school for discipline concerns.<BR>• have dependable transportation.<BR>• have excellent interpersonal skills and is able to effectively communicate with DramaSmarts staff, parents and school administrators. <BR><BR>TEACHING ARTISTS are contracted on an hourly basis at a rate of $40 per hour and usually work from 4-8 hours per month. Payment is received at the end of each month. <BR><BR><BR><BR>Requirements...<BR><BR><BR><BR>· have at least 2 or more years of experience working with school-aged children as a classroom teacher or Teaching Artist teaching drama or dance.<BR><BR>· be available to attend an unpaid 5 evening training in late August in Cleveland, OH and be able to commit to a consecutive 8-week class for two days weekly during the after school hours with no pending conflicts.<BR><BR>· be available for paid bi-weekly meetings with DramaSmarts staff.<BR><BR>· be able to use the library and their own resource database to supplement the curriculum.<BR><BR>· be punctual and responsible<BR><BR><BR><BR>Interviews will take place the week of July 23rd and July 30th with demonstration lessons taking place July 28th or August 4th for a group of 6-8 students in grades 3-5.<BR><BR><BR><BR>Interested candidates should send a resume, cover letter and two references in an MS Word format <BR><BR>to <a href="mailto:info@dramasmarts.com">info@dramasmarts.com</a>.<BR><BR><BR><BR>No phone calls please!!!</div></span></body></html>
